Brad Burchards
Storage Wars a reality television series which premiered in 2010 features auctioneer Dan Dotson as well as auction hunters Dave Hester, Darrell Sheets, Barry Weiss, Jarrod Schulz, and Brandi Passante. Storage lockers are abundant in almost places in the US and if rent is not paid on these said lockers for three months in California the contents are sold off by an auctioneer as a single lot of items. Professional buyers who purchase the contents based on a five minute inspection rule and they can only see from the door when it is opened wherein the goal is to turn a profit on the merchandise. And profit indeed is the reason why this article came to play after a discovery of a real-life pirates' chest that is over 200 years old with a cool half a million in gold doubloons! Dan and Laura Dotson came across the stash inside a foreclosed storage locker at an auction in Contra Cost County, CA which they sold off to one lucky buyer for just over a grand! The find was described as "pieces of eight Spanish gold" dating between the 16th and 19th century that took 3 people to move the coin box out because of its sheer weight with an appraisal expert giving the collection a value of around 0,000!
