To those who are die hard fans of Jason Statham and Robert de Niro then the move Killer Elite is the one for you.
It is based on a true story written by a former SAS member about the dirty war Britain was involved in during the 80's wherein they had a hand in the political movements in Oman. Jason Statham plays a hitman or killer for hire in the movie and after quitting the business is brought back when Robert de Niro was caught by the Sheik who hired him to avenge his sons murdered by the SAS. Important catch with the plot is that the Sheik wants to get the confession of the alleged killers and that their deaths would appear as accidents to avoid reprisals both from the British and tribes from Oman who kicked out the Sheik. If we check on the volatile nature of politics in Oman it would give you a clear picture of the ways things are done in that particular place in the world which is brought about by the abundance of black gold (oil). Jason Statham succeeds in killing the 3 alleged killers but as the movie winds down to the final minutes it is shown that both sides of the table have their own agenda causing Jason Statham to rethink his options after he finds out that he and Robert de Niro are expendable. The movie also stars Clive Owen as the former SAS member who Jason Statham has to go up against to attain his goal and free his friend Robert de Niro. Adrenalin junkies such as myself will not be disappointed with this movie which is not for those who are faint of heart or peace loving hippie.
