The Indie Move About RockstarsPDFPrintE-mail

This indie movie was released just last week in theatres nationwide and it garnered both favorable and unfavorable responses from the audience. Firstly, the film was about uplifting the rock music genre along with the mainstream pop music. Somehow, it is relevant here in the Philippines as many Filipinos admire foreign pop artists and bands such as K-Pop, Justin Bieber and many more. These type of indie movies surely want to reach a message to the masses to advocate our very own Filipino music, artists and albums. Likewise, it is shown in the movie, the beautiful side of rock music and the plot generates from this message.

The cast of the film includes Jason Abalos, Diether Ocampo, Glaiza de Castro, Alwyn Uytingco, Ketchup Eusebio and a lot more mainstream stars that have made this Rakenrol more appealing and at the same time intriguing. However, a lot of movie critiques have noted the movies as a real mess. The plot is very scattered and the characters contribute, if not little, nothing to the development of the storyline. Also, one movie reviews heavily claimed that the movie is such a huge disappointment. Although, until now, it is still showing on many theatres.

The best thing this movie has in the other hand is the explicit and great appreciation of rock music, intertwining the roles and characters of this movie. The trailer seems to be very intriguing at first look and it brings some curiosity in moviegoers but had not turned out to be very successful after all.

The story and the movie itself will surely lure rock and roll fanatics to watch the movie as it tackles a subject very dear to them. Another good thing in the movie is the great lesson behind the confusing story or plot, but hopefully it was used more optimally so it may be conveyed to the audience with greater impact of Rakenrol.
