Top Filipino professional golfer Frankie Miñoza is once again at the forefront of supporting the young players.
Miñoza recently hosted two legs of the Frankie Miñoza Junior Golf Circuit at his home course Del Monte Golf Club and at Alta Vista Golf and Country Club.
The Del Monte leg opened the series with players from the host club dominating the event.
The most recent leg at Alta Vista saw a mix of winners from Cebu, Bukidnon, and Metro Manila.
The final leg of the tournament will be held late May at Cebu Country Club.
Miñoza’s support to the junior golfers is well-known among the players, especially those from Visayas and Mindanao.
He is known to accommodate the junior golfers at his home in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon during tournaments and training aside from giving away so much stuff from his sponsor companies and friends during the awards ceremony.
Miñoza has also encouraged clubs that do not have junior golf programs to start one of their own.
In the Alta Vista leg, Edsel Tan of the host club won the title for the special division, which is for those aged 18 to 21 years old.
Leading the winners among the junior golfers was Gio Gandionco of Cebu Country Club, who ruled class A for boys (15 to 17 years old) while Apple Fudolin of Del Monte topped the girls’ class.
The class B (13-14 years old) winners were Rupert Zaragosa of Canlubang and Del Monte’s Pamela Mariano.
