I have always known BJ Suzara many years ago, he was always the best-friend-you’ll-ever-have-type, the achiever, the leader, the hardworker – well, sometimes he can be such a geek, but who would ever thought he’ be leading a group of 7 to superstardom!
BJ has always been gifted with the voice ladies would want to fall in love with, coupled with the talented and experienced musicians; they collaborated and created Dance With Me Kris. Winning all of the band competitions they join, most especially the prestigious ones, they are the most successful Cebu indie band to date.

Meet BJ SUZARA (Vocalist), ANDRE PARADERO (Drummer), DARYL DANIEL (Guitarist), ELIJAH AMORES (Guitarist), JAMESON UY (Bassist), ABBY BANUAG (Keyboardist), VAL DENOYO (Guitarist [on leave]) – collectively known as DANCE WITH ME KRIS.
And this is their first single which got me hooked until to day. I can’t stop singing along with this song every time I play it on air.
It was in the mid 2008 when Daryl and Andre decided to summon upon all their musical inclinations in order to build a band. With a couple of other friends blessed with the same talent, the band “Dance With Me Kris” was formed, composed of five incredibly talented individuals with Daryl on bass, Andre on drums, Vincent and Cedrix (currently with Short 56) on guitars and BJ on vocals. Overtime, the ...five became a bunch of friends who took pleasure in formulating music with the genres of Pop, Rnb and Punk over beer and the typical Filipino pulutan, playing gigs and songs at different local pubs. Ultimately, Andre had landed on greener pastures with the infamous artist names Van Pojas. The band suffered great loss from the incident, and after weeks of relentless searching for a replacement, the band had to break up. After a few months, Andre then decided to rejoin the band. His return was also marked Abby’s new spot as the band’s keyboardist. They were back on track; playing gigs and composing songs.
Despite the growing popularity and the developed talents, the band was forced to reassemble things due to time constraints on the side of some of the band’s members. Although hard, Vincent and Cedrix decided to leave the band. With Vincent and Cedrix’s departure, Val and Dim came into the scene, creating minor changes with Dim handling the bass, Val and Daryl on the guitars, while Abby, BJ and Andre maintained the old routine. The five of them emerged to be superb artists and shared numerous memories and experiences through the course of seven short yet truly marvelous months. They had also participated in city-wide band competitions, in all of which they reined victorious, giving rise to the good reputation of the band. In May of 2010, Val had to leave to be with his family in Canada. Elijah then came into the picture and took his place. To this day, the band continues to do what they do best: Share their passion in music through entertaining people with their original compositions.
With just 3 years of making music, they have topped the charts of major radio stations in Cebu and Cagayan de Oro, they were featured in ABS-CBN TV Patrol Central Visayas Star Patrol Segment last November 2010 they have performed in ABS-CBN Maayong Buntag Kapamilya TV Show last December 2010. On top of that, they were HappyCebu.com’s Artist of the Month (January 2011).

Representing the University of San Carlos - Grand Champion of The PLDT myDSL Live and Loud Inter-school Band Competition 2010, Representing the University of San Carlos - Grand Champion of the Gin Blossoms Front Act Band Competition (November 2010) - Grand Champion of the TM Astig Band Challenge (January 2011) - Able to play together with Manila Bands namely the Following: Parokya Ni Edgar, Gloc 9, Sugarfree, Sandwich, 6 Cycle Mind, Powespoonz, Urbandub, Franco and Gin Blossoms - The only band who front acted the International Band “Gin Blossoms” in Cebu City.
They will be playing in B-Side Bar in Makati this week. Their first Manila gig and they are opening for most awesome Franco.
