After the very sensational Twilight saga, the American television adopted another kind of fiction closely related to that of Twilight. Only that, it’s much better in terms of story plot—just the usual but not that usual at all.
Vampire Diaries is another vampire fiction set in America which began on a series premier last September 2009. For two years now, the show still continues now with its 3rd season just recently started. This drama television series was developed by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, based on L. J. Smith’s book with the same title.
The entire series revolves around a small place called Mystic Place. This small area is said to be attacked by supernaturals. And same as Twilight, Vampire Diaries has the main love triangle between Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder).
The three characters make the story of vampires and humans turn around with a few twists of fate. With this, the series was considered as highly successful in record of American television series. Garnering an average 3.6 million series viewers, this has become as sensational in America as it is in the rest of the world. Even here in the Philippines, you can see avid fans of the series who would just turn on their televisions to watch every episode of Vampire Diaries.
Vampire Diaries is shown on The CW Television Network in the States and has been renewing contract of every episode therein. If you’re one of the avid fans of this series, it’s now on its fourth episode of the third season. See for yourself a love story between Vampires and humans, and see how they affect each others lives, with Vampire Diaries.
