I got some time and decided to talk to John M. He is a nice guy to talk to and you get to learn a lot from his insights…

so in relation to Y101fm’s promo “The 12 Days of Christmas”, I asked John M. what his cause was.

John M’s strongest cause is eradicating poverty. Poverty is unfair and he states that he has compassion to the ones affected however; he believes that the blame should be given to people who do not do anything.

One should not give anything to a physically-complete beggar on the street.  “I work my ass off! Why should I give them change or my money? They might even be working for syndicates” John M said. If he were to give anything, it would be food.

Education is needed to eradicate poverty. If one can learn how to survive on trash, then one can learn a thing or two from school. John M believes that these people can be taught useful skills and then become good, law-abiding citizens.

He went to many countries and he said that the Philippines have the worst kind of poverty. He could not imagine a family living in a 4x4 room. What breaks his heart most is people doing the “pag pag”- finding garbage food and heating it up to be eaten. There are people living like that and there we go buying pochero bones from a pochero restaurant to give it to our dog.

God said not to be miserable. If he would have said something then it would be “I gave you life so enjoy the heck out of it! Laugh, Sweat, Wonder, and be curious!”

But people under poverty could not do that, sadly.

John M concludes that the way to eradicate poverty is through providing education and I agree with everything he said.
