A week has passed and it seems like people have not yet recovered from the Sinulog 2015 experience.

When you check your Facebook timeline, you see your news feed filled with pictures of people partying hard, showing off their painted skin and messy white shirts. It told me that people really did wait for that to happen. It is all clearer now- Sinulog 2015 was more awaited and most celebrated event so far compared to the last Christmas and New Year.

Earlier at the mall, I saw a lot of people with their hennas- there was not a group nor a cluster of people where one did not have henna.  They wore it proudly (or even exposed it on purpose) like it’s some kind of battle scar. I have witnessed Sinulog ever since I was a child and I noticed that recently, people are becoming more and more into it. As what I have said earlier, it was more awaited and celebrated compared to Christmas and New Year. Why is that?

Maybe it’s because of social media? People have become so vain lately since social media came… or maybe because people can express themselves more now with the power social media? But if Social Media was the culprit then shouldn’t any kind of celebration matter? It has been around for year already so it shouldn’t make a difference.

Honestly, I couldn’t find out what made this Sinulog so much different from last year’s Sinulog. I am sure many have noticed when compared.

I wonder what the people of Y101Fm have in mind regarding the matter.  Stay tuned!
