Oh the 80’s, the time when neon colors were the trend and where disco was at its peak.

The 80’s was when men could wear their hair in ponytails and look really hot; where smiley pins looked good when pinned anywhere; when scrunchies and huge earrings were the main accessories, and when you had to wear shoulder pads in order to avoid a naked feeling.

Remember how music was so different? Every artist had their own style back then so it was difficult to choose a favorite. Many ended up with a lot of cassette tapes (which may still work now) since every artist had something which can tickle their fancy.

Now, we came up with 5 of the 80’s most popular dance songs:

Into the Groove – Madonna

Didn’t you know that Madonna's inspiration behind this song was the dance floor, and she wrote it while watching a handsome Puerto Rican man, across her balcony?

I Wanna Dance With Somebody – Whitney Houston

This song actually topped the charts of 13 countries which made it a gem of the 80’s.

Sweet Dreams (are made of this) – Eurythmics

Didn’t you know that this song has an alternative music video with the duo on a train?

Take On Me- A-ha

This song was revived by A1 however, the original was definitely better.

Smooth Criminal- Michael Jackson

In 1990, an arcade game titled “Michael Jackson's Moon Walker” was made with synthesized versions of his hits, such as "Beat It" and "Smooth Criminal”.

What was your favorite 80’s dance hit?
