RACE
Last week the Cebu City Marriott Hotel announced that they are taking part in this year’s annual charity fundraising event called “Run to Give” initiated by Marriott International and to be held simultaneously by other Marriott hotels across the Asia Pacific.
The “Run to Give” activity organized by Cebu City Marriott is scheduled to take place on September 23, 2017 (5:00 A.M. Saturday) on the streets of Cebu Business Park. The race will feature 3-kilometer, 5K and 10K categories.
Registration fees, each of which is inclusive of the race kit, are P350 (for 3k category), P450 for 5k, and P550 for 10k.
Registrations can be done at the lobby of Cebu City Marriott Hotel from 10:00AM to 5:00PM and 6:00PM to 10:00PM and at the RUNNR Store at Ayala Center Cebu during mall hours every day until September 18.

CHARITY
Cebu City Marriott’s beneficiary for this charitable race is Rise Above Foundation, a non-profit organization that “focuses on improving the quality of life for poor families in Cebu”. They provide skills training, health and hygiene programs, and aid to individuals in need.
Race director Kenneth Casquejo said that “all the proceeds [from the race] will go to [Rise Above’s] educational and livelihood programs”.
Race participants and spectators who wish to help more with the cause can also stop by the Rise Above booth to be set up during the race. There, one can purchase recycled bags called ReCy Bags handmade by the women of Rise Above Foundation.
