1. Did your nose bleed during your dive? Worry not because this is quite normal for first time divers. This happens when your sinuses are not cleared so one should always be reminded of equalizing the nose and/or the ears. To avoid this on your next dive, descend slowly and remember to equalize. Should the nosebleed occur frequently, or if you’re unable to clear your sinus during your dive, consult your doctor. Remember to #divesafePH

2. Did you know that since the Philippines is rich with marine life, resorts in the country offers shore dives? These resorts have house reefs that make it accessible for a diver to easily discover unique attractions that can only be found underwater.

3. There are three main rules when it comes to diving. The first one, which is the like cardinal rule of SCUBA Diving, is Don’t Hold your Breath. Remember to relax, breath slowly, exhale fully and don’t panic duringyour dive. Second is to Ascend Slowly. Because your body now has Nitrogen, ascending fast can cause decompression sickness. One must always perform a safety stop at 3 meters for 3 mins before fully ascending and not to ascend more than 30 feet per minute. Lastly is to Plan yourDive and Dive your Plan. Your dive instructor will continue to tell you this every time you dive so that you will know your maximum depth, total bottom time and the amount of air. Remember to #divesafePH
