SUN.STAR Publishing Inc. will hold the very first Sun.Star Visayas-Mindanao Inter-School Cheerdance Competition this coming December 12th at the New Cebu Coliseum, Cebu City.

Inspired by University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) cheerdance competition in Manila, Sun.Star decided to create the event. Sun.Star Management President Gina Garcia-Atienza said that the competition is open to college level participants from schools in Visayas and Mindanao. Garcia-Atienza added that cheerdance in Cebu was just for performance before, so now, they wanted it to become bigger and more interesting. Juver Pataytay, chief consultant of the Sun.Star Cheerdance 2015, said this is the first time that all the technical requirements will be identified.

Anthony Ornejas, part of the cheerdance committee, said the registration fee is at P3,500 but with two receipts of one-year subscription of Sun.Star's e-paper, the registration fee will be lowered to P1,000. Pataytay said the deadline of registration was supposedly on September 30, but was extended to give more time for the participants from out of town to process the requirements. The committee is yet to set the final date for the registration.

Those interested can still sign up atspecials.sunstar.com.ph. The top three placers will receive a trophy, medals, and the following cash prizes: P50,000 for first place, P30,000 for second place, and P20,000 for third place.
