Eelume has designed a functional mechanical snake for your pool’s inspection and repair.
A Norwegian underwater robotics company called Eelume has designed a functional mechanical snake. It's purportedly designed for "inspections and repair," and people are already concerned of its sinister pitch-black scales and glowing malevolent eyes design. This mecha-snake, which has not been given a name yet, is capable of "light intervention jobs" and "disruptive solutions".
This snake-like robot is made by a Norwegian company called Eelume. These robots will be designed to live on the seafloor in order to clean and check on undersea equipment while performing simple tasks such as tightening loose valves with their clamp-like mouths. So is the idea of having robotic snakes monitoring the ocean floors a terrifying prospect or an exciting sign of future technologies?
Japan has also designed its own underwater mecha-snake. The Japanese inventors who designed the serpent ACM-R5H boasted it being "versatile," and capable of operating in "extreme environments."
