It’s not really fair to call this dessert a cake as it is more of a jelly. The water cake is simply a jelly formed into a ball made up of water and sugar. It is then served with different kinds of toppings like chocolate syrup or Graham cracker crumbs.

In Japan, the water cake is called Mizu Shingen Mochi and if it’s not eaten within 30 minutes, it will literally disappear and turn into puddle of water!

Water Cake tastes exactly as you expected. It tastes no more than water and the basic chocolate syrup. A store in Gaisano Country Mall used to sell one of these in 2016.
