BEAT THE HEAT food

I don't know with you but during snack time I crave for something cold rather than savory and hot treats.

I've gone over some fun treats that we can make right at the comforts of our home. Here are some fun treats to try with your friends whether you're the type to indulge or want to have a healthy afternoon snack:

DIY Mango Caramel Ice Craze

DIY Mango Caramel Ice Craze

Who remembers this treat from Jollibee from summer's back? If you think about it, it's really simple. Get a bowl or glass of crushed ice, and pour some mango puree or juice and top it off with chunks of sliced mangoes and a dash of caramel on top. If you're feeling a bit more indulgent, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top! Yum!

Fun Buko Pandan

 Fun Buko Pandan

Jazz up a family favorite using different cookie cutter shapes for your pandan gelatin! I never thought of using stars, hearts and even bears to the classic family favorite. Just prepare buko pandan gelatin according to package instructions, mix in some coconut strips, all-purpose cream, condensed milk and some sweet corn.

Coconut, Lime, Cucumber and Mint Cooler

Isn't that a refreshing name? I can feel the coolness of the taste on my lips already! Crush some mint leaves, thinly slice some limes or lemons and cucumber and add these to some coconut water. Make sure to let the flavors infuse for 1-2 hours.

Iced Coffee Cubes

Iced Coffee Cubes

Coffee lovers, we got you! Freeze some freshly-brewed espresso. Fill your glass with the espresso cubes and pour some milk and add some sugar or sweetener to your liking. You can even add some vanilla or use almond milk for more flavor!

Fresh Fruit and Yogurt Popsicles

Fresh Fruit and Yogurt Popsicles

Take frozen yogurt to the next level! I just recently found some cute popsicle makers at Daiso and you can make almost any concoction to your liking! For a healthy mix, grab some unflavored yogurt and slice your favorite fresh fruits. Mix them together and add the mixture to the popsicle maker. Let it freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
