Beginning with 1989’s “The Trial of the Incredible Hulk”, Stan Lee has made quick cameo appearances in the numerous film adaptations of his comic book characters as a service to his fans. Many people consider his short but sweet cameos as the best parts in Marvel movies. Not only did he appear in all of the films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as in its TV series supplements, but he can also be found as a fun easter egg in other franchises too. He showed up in some of the X-Men and Fantastic Four films, and appeared in all of the films in both the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Spider-men series.

With over 100+ cameos in film, TV, and video games, Stan Lee must had a favorite among them.  And he sure did. In 2007, “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” was released. Stan Lee, who created the superhero team with Jack Kirby back in the 1960’s, said that his appearance in the film was his favorite because it was inspired by a funny story he and Kirby wrote in the comics. In “Fantastic Four Annual Volume 1 #3, issued in 1965, the characters Reed and Sue Richards get married. Lee and Kirby wrote themselves in the story in which they attempt to crash the wedding but they are unfortunately thwarted. A similar scenario appeared in the 2007 film.

Nine years later, when “X-Men: Apocalypse” was released, Stan Lee revealed that his appearance in that film may be his favorite ever. Before the film was even released, Lee teased that his cameo in Apocalypse will feature “one additional thing in it”. It turns it was none other than his wife of 69 years, Joan.
