Earlier this morning it was announced that Prince Harry, the grandson of England’s Queen Elizabeth II and fifth in line to the throne, is engaged to his American girlfriend Meghan Markle. The Prince, who is 33 years old, and Markle, who is 36, will marry by April next year.
Who is Meghan Markle?
Meghan Markle, who was born in Los Angeles, California, is known as an actress and a model. She plays one of the main characters in the legal drama series Suits. She also plays a special agent in the sci-fi thriller Fringe. Markle has also a degree in theater and international studies.
She met Prince Harry since June last year and news of their relationship spread in the following months. Markle first spoke in public about their relationship back in September 2017 saying "We're two people who are really happy and in love. We were very quietly dating for about six months before it became news.”
