Coldplay, everyone’s favorite pop band, has covered the Soundgarden classic ‘Black Hole Sun’ as a tribute to the latter band’s late singer Chris Cornell. Coldplay performed the track during their gig in Seattle over the weekend – watch footage of the performance below.
The Chris Martin-led band was playing music in Seattle, the birthplace of Chris Cornell. So as to pay respect to the one of the city’s greats, Coldplay paid tribute to Cornell who passed away in May.
While concluding a rendition of ‘The Scientist’, Martin paid tribute to Cornell by playing a short section of ‘Black Hole Sun’ as the song drew to a close. Watch a fan-shot clip of the cover below.
