Ten years ago today, pop star Britney Spears was charged with hit-and-run and driving without a valid driver's license. She was later fined $1000 or she could have served six months in prison if she didn’t pay.
The singer, who was 25-years old then, allegedly hit a parked car inside a parking lot. The car’s owner discovered his vehicle damaged and was shocked to know it was the Toxic singer.
Spears' professional life has been overshadowed by her personal crises back in 2007. Her performance at that year’s MTV Video Music Awards was poorly received and she had a mental breakdown where she shaved her head and had a terrible run-in with paparazzi.
2007 was also the year she filed for divorce from her husband of three years and the father of her two sons. However, fast forward a decade and Britney is looking better than ever and opening up about what she learned from her highly publicized breakdown, which will soon become a movie.
