Rami Malek (the star known for his role in the series Mr Robot) will be bringing the iconic Freddie Mercury back to life in a new biopic to be released on December 25, 2017.
The movie, which will be called Bohemian Rhapsody will star Malek in his first major film role since 2008's Night at the Museum. Based on pictures posted this week, the actor completely transforms his look to fit the role of the inimitable Mercury. He rocks the gaudy outfits and animated persona for which Mercury was known.
Bohemian Rhapsody documents the formation of the band Queen in 1970 up to Mercury's AIDS-related death in 1991. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Malek recalls his first time seeing himself in full hair and makeup. “When you’re able to open your eyes and see a different person staring back at you in the mirror, it’s a very affirming moment," he says.
