The singer thinks that Obama and the Pope should wear his new shoe collection that he designed for Puma.

Back in April, The Weeknd teased everyone with an announcement that he was collaborating with Puma, the popular German footwear company.

Now announcing his launch at Footwear News, The Weeknd says; "It's finally happening, We've been working with Puma for almost a year, and everyone is more than ready to get the sneakers out. I was nervous at first, but when I finally got to hold the product, I immediately fell in love. I think people will like it."

The Weeknd unveils the Parallel, which he says is wearable for all sexes and which he hopes “would have universal appeal”. The Parallel costs $220 (more than P11,000) and is designed by The Weeknd himself;  “I just want to see everyone wearing it. I want it to be part of pop culture. I want to walk down the street and see kids wearing it and women wearing it. I want to see the pope wearing it. I want to see [Barack] Obama wearing it. I want to see Elon Musk wearing it.”
