We want to push that boundary again”

Blink-182, the popular American pop-punk band have just kicked off a UK tour in support of their most recent album California released just last year. Not only was it their first album in five years, but California was also their first record with new frontman Matt Skiba originally from the band Alkaline Trio.

In an interview with NME, the band discussed about their follow-up to California, and said that it will be “more experimental”. Singer and bassist Mark Hoppus told the magazine at Rock Werchter 2017, “We’ve already started talking about what we think the next album should be... We haven’t written any new songs yet. We’re going to start fresh next year.”

He continued, “I think [California] took Blink back to its roots and what it’s all about, and I think on the next record, we want to push that boundary again. We’ll keep the core of Blink 182 but we’ll get a little more experimental”.
