The other day, Cristiano Ronaldo was named man of the match after scoring two goals to help Real Madrid beat Juventus in the Champions League final. The victory gave Ronaldo his fourth Champions League title, during which he finished atop the scorers' table for the fifth year in a row.

Excited about this feat, Nike produced a simple advert of a younger Cristiano Ronaldo staring blankly through a net. The Nike’s logo is placed below the image, with a caption, This boy knew.

However, Twitter detectives quickly pointed out something interesting about the photo—Ronaldo was wearing a clothing made by rival sportswear giant Adidas. Hours later, the original photo (unedited, uncropped version of the same picture) surfaced.

While the mishap may be of some embarrassment to Nike, the Portuguese forward is unlikely to be concerned having just guided his club to their 12th Champions League title.

The Spanish club are now the first to retain it since it changed its name from the European Cup.Speaking about that achievement, Ronaldo said: “It's another record for us and we deserve it.”

The goal now is to win the next Champions League as we won this one, showing that we're the best and taking advantage of the support we had right from the beginning.”
