Who is Dua Lipa?
Dua Lipa is a 21-year old rising pop star based in London. Her musical career began at age 14, when she began covering songs by artists such as Christina Aguilera and Nelly Furtado on YouTube. In 2015, she was signed with Warner Bros. Records, and released her first single soon after.
In 2017, she gained worldwide recognition for making the song, Thinking ‘Bout You. The song currently sits high on Y101’s Weekly Top 20.
During an interview from Australia’s The West, Dua Lipa revealed that she is a founder and patron of the Sunny Hill Foundation, an organisation that promotes social equality and creative opportunities in her ancestral home of Kosovo, a tiny country in the Balkan region.
She also mentioned in the same interview that she grew up listening to the music of her father, Dukagjin Lipa, a popular Kosova Albanian rock star in the 90’s.
