The wrestler-turned-actor officially announced his bid to run for U.S. President along with running mate Tom Hanks.

There has been rumors that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson could be running for U.S. President in 2020. Now, the wrestler-turned-actor has officially announced his bid on the latest episode of Saturday Night Live.

This announcement came days after an official poll by Public Policy Polling finds that if The Rock ran as a Democrat against Republican Donald Trump, the actor would lead with a margin of 42/37.

When The Rock announced his presidential bid during his monologue on SNL, Tom Hanks came out to congratulate him.The pair then announced that they would be vying for the Presidential bid come 2020 together - running through their collective qualifications. Hanks, having fought in World War II in “like ten different movies”, would get the senior vote whereas Johnson would win the “minority vote because everyone just assumes that I am whatever they are”.
