Chris Cornell hanged himself to death

The legendary Soundgarden and Audioslave singer committed suicide.

Yesterday, we received sad news that Chris Cornell, the frontman for iconics bands Soundgarden and Audioslave has passed away at the age of 52.


Now it has been revealed what his cause of death was. According to the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office, autopsy of the late singer’s body revealed he committed suicide by hanging.

Spokesman Brian Bumbery said they found Cornell’s lifeless body hanging in his hotel room at the MGM Grand Detroit following a concert he performed with a reunited Soundgarden just hours before.

Dontae Freeman, media relations manager for the Detroit Police Department also reported that Cornell “was found in his room with a band around his neck."

Cornell’s last tweet was in good spirit where he posted on Wednesday, “Finally back to Rock City” before the concert. However, Freeman also reported that Cornell’s wife, Vicky Karayiannis, asked a family friend to check on Cornell after the show later that evening.
