Chris Cornell dead

The Black Hole Sun singer has passed away.

It has just been reported that Chris Cornell - the popular lead singer of rock bands Audioslave, Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog, has passed away. The singer was 52 years old.


A statement issued to the Associated Press a few hours ago said that Cornell died Wednesday night in Detroit, Michigan. The cause of his "sudden and unexpected" death is still unknown as of the writing of this article.. Cornell's family has reported asked for privacy while they work with a medical examiner to determine the cause.

Chris Cornell was best known for his distinct voice and for leading two iconic bands, Audioslave and Soundgarden. He also founded and fronted the supergroup rock band Temple of the Dog which is a basically a collaboration with Pearl Jam.

Cornell is also famous for writing and performing the James Bond theme song You Know My Name for the 2006 Bond movie, Casino Royale.
