Katy Perry’s new song ‘Deja Vu’

It seems like Katy Perry is taking on another direction with her new album.

Earlier this year, Katy Perry dropped the politically charged pop song Changed to the Rhythm, her first single in 4 years (not considering the one-off Olympic anthem Rise.)

Now this week, Perry previewed another new seemingly-politically charged song, thought to be called ‘Deja Vu’. The song includes the lines “Cause every day’s the same / Definition of insane / I think we’re running on a loop / Deja vu”.

This post comes a week after Perry shared another snippet of a new song, that has now been deleted online. n it, Perry is heard chanting: “I won’t, no, I won’t apologise / I will not, will not subscribe / Don’t ask me, ask me to normalise”.

It seems that Katy Perry is taking a political direction on her new album, something the pop world hasn’t heard since Beyonce’s Lemonade. Perry’s fifth album is expected for release in June or July.
