David Beckham, the world famous football star, and his wife Victoria Beckham, the world famous Spice girls, and model, have revealed that they paid the taxman in their country nearly £22,000 a day in 2015. (That’s roughly 1 million pesos a day!)
Their global business empire – Beckham Brand Holdings Ltd – is owned by this power couple, and encompasses both Victoria’s fashion label and David’s image rights.
Their accounts, show their firm made a total of £47.2m (2 billion pesos!) over the course of the year. Some £10.2m (P650 million) of that was sales from the footballer’s image rights, while his wife’s fashion business (Victoria’s Secret) raked in £36.9m.
In total, the pair notched up pre-tax profits of £39.5m, and paid £7.9m (roughly P498 million pesos) worth of tax on the amount.
That’s the equivalent of nearly £22,000 every day (1 million pesos plus a day), or £152,000 a week (9 million plus a week!).
So the next time your company deducts your salary tax, just be glad it’s not worth a million!
