Conspiracy theorists believe that the 16th century oracle who foresaw the future predicted the rise of President Donald Trump.

Michel de Nostradame, (latinised to: Nostradamus) was a French 'seer' who died in 1566 and wrote over a thousand predictions about the coming centuries, contained in Les Propheties.

He wrote these as four line poems, organised into 'quatrains'. Les Propheties was published as 10 volumes, each referred to as a 'century'.

Nostradamus has been credited with predicting World War II and the September 11 Attacks on New York City. And now some people believe that he might have predicted the rise of Donald Trump as President of the United States.

Conspiracy theorists believe that Century III, quatrain 81 refers to the 2016 presidential election. The great prophet Nostradamus wrote,

“The great shameless, audacious bawler. He will be elected governor of the army: The boldness of his contention.”

The theorists believe that the “shameless, audacious bawler” is a direct reference to Mr Trump and his outspoken, unapologetic style of campaigning.

“Governor of the army” is being interpreted as the leader of the most powerful military country in the world, the United States.

Another prediction reads: “The false trumpet concealing madness will cause Byzantium to change its laws.”

Theorists believe that the “False trumpet concealing madness” is Trump and that the reference to Byzantium – a colony in Ancient Greece – could be linked to the influx of refugees coming through Greece.

Donald Trump’s anti-immigration stance has been at the center of his campaign. Finally Nostradamus writes “the Republic of the big city” will engage in costly military operations, ordered by the “trumpet”, which has led to fears of nuclear war.
