Former Oasis member Bonehead has announced that he is giving away a piece of wood from the Haçienda dancefloor.
A popular Manchester nightclub, called the The Haçienda was closed in 1997 before being demolished in 2002 to make way for luxury apartments. The venue was a key setting in the Manchester indie, acid house and rave scenes during the 80s and 90s.
Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs, the guitarist from Oasis, has now taken to Twitter to post a photo of a plank of wood from the floor of the Haçienda, promising to give it away for free to someone who retweets the post. A winner will be chosen at 10pm on Tuesday morning. See his tweet below.

Bonehead recently said he’d be there “like a shot” if the original Oasis line-up reformed. “There’s never a day goes by when I’m not asked by someone about a reunion,” he said. “But nothing has been said to me about that. If I was asked? Then absolutely, like a shot.”
Meanwhile, other pieces from the Haçienda dancefloor were up for grabs for £400 to £700 ( Php25,000 – Php43,000). A distinct purple and red piece of the dancefloor that’s embossed with the words ‘beach’ and ‘ocean’ on it was recovered and auctioned off for people looking to collect a piece of music history.
The Hacienda club auction also includes a rare Oasis silver CD created as a recognition for the sale of the band’s single Roll With It passing the 200,000 mark. The CD is expected to fetch £700.
An identical disc which was presented to and signed by Noel Gallagher, sold at auction for £4,000 (Php 250,000) in 2011.
Also up for grabs is a framed CD which was presented to drummer Mike Joyce of The Smiths to recognise 100,000 sold copies of the band’s 1986 album The Queen is Dead.
