Blink-182 named ‘most animal-friendly’

PETA recognized the band for speaking out against animal cruelty.

Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and new guitarist Matt Skiba were given the honor at the 11th Annual Libby Awards. Organised by the youth animal rights group peta2 – which is PETA’s youth program – the awards seek to celebrate the brands, celebrities, musicians and companies who have shown “their commitment to animals” in 2016.

Beating off competition from the likes of Matt and Kim, Tonight Alive and Farewell My Love, blink were crowned the “most animal-friendly band” of 2016 by the organisation. Bassist Hoppus and guitarist Skiba are noted vegetarians, while drummer Barker is a vegan.
