Who’s taken the most cash home this year?

The highest paid musicians of 2016 have been revealed, with the top celebrity earning $170 million within the past 12 months.

That musician is Taylor Swift who has beaten Adele and One Direction to take the top spot on the Forbes list, despite not releasing any music this year. She has however, written songs for Rihanna and Little Big Town, which will have contributed to her earnings. She also worked on deals with the likes of Apple, Diet Coke and Keds.

One Direction’s $110 million made it to second place and Adele’s $80 million landed her on the third spot. Justin Bieber is the youngest artist on the list, having earned $56 million this year. You can see the full Forbes list below.
