Justin Timberlake I Had No Idea Voting Selfie Was Illegal

The Can’t Stop the Feeling singer took a selfie of himself voting at the polls and posted it online. It then got him into hot water!

The U.S. law also prohibits voters from taking photos or recording conversations while voting during the elections. Although Justin Timberlake had good intentions when he took his selfie and posted it online, encouraging young people to vote early, he actually may have broken the law!

JT was promoting early voting, and posted a selfie on Instagram with the following message: "Hey! You! Yeah, YOU! I just flew from LA to Memphis to #rockthevote !!! No excuses, my good people! There could be early voting in your town too. If not, November 8th! Choose to have a voice! If you don't, then we can't HEAR YOU! Get out and VOTE!". He later deleted the post after he realized the issue.

And now JT has some new advice for taking part in the presidential election next month: “Vote, but don't take a selfie while you're doing it.”

The singer and actor addressed the controversy during an appearance on The Tonight Show on Wednesday, telling host Jimmy Fallon he thought he was inspiring people with the picture and "had no idea" it was illegal
