What More Can I Say? This Brooklyn rapper sits alongside the likes of Madonna and Cat Stevens on the prestigious org's latest list of nominees for 2017!

Jay Z has just become the first rapper ever to be nominated for entry to the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The prestigious organisation, whose mission is to “preserve, honor and celebrate the legacy of the great songwriters whose work has enriched the world’s culture”, will announce their new slate of accepted artists at its Annual Induction & Awards Gala on June 15, 2017 in New York City, having unveiled their list of nominees last week (October 20).

Other nominees on the 2017 list include Madonna, Cat Stevens and George Michael. R&B songwriter Babyface was also nominated, alongside producer Max Martin who co-wrote the songs Baby One More Time by Britney Spears, I Kissed a Girl by Katy Perry, Can’t Feel My Face by The Weeknd, I Want it that Way by the Backstreet Boys, and Shake it Off by Taylor Swift.

Other well known nominees include Bryan Adams, Peter Cetera and the rest of Chicago, Gloria Estefan, David Gates of the band Bread, Jeff Lynne of Electric Light Orchestra and Sly Stone of Sly and the Family Stone.
