Lil Wayne Married a Same Sex Couple in Jail

The rapper is releasing a memoir that details his experiences at Rikers Island prison.

Lil Wayne officiated a same-sex marriage for two inmates while he was serving a jail sentence in 2010 in Rikers Island Prison in New York.

The rapper - who recently crushed rumours that he was set to retire from music - served an eight-month sentence at New York's notorious Rikers Island in 2010 for gun charges. While incarcerated, Wayne kept a journal, which is being turned into a memoir, Gone 'Til November.

In excerpts obtained by Page Six, Wayne describes "playfully" officiating a ceremony between two same-sex inmates, before decorating a hall in the prison with toilet paper and bottles of Gatorade.

Gatorade is liquid gold in this bitch," Wayne wrote about the energy drink's status in prison. "Imagine seeing grown-ass men in jail hanging tissue for wedding decorations. AND one of them is Lil Wayne. Crazy.

Wayne also revealed the identities of several high-profile friends who visited him in prison, including Kanye West and Puff Daddy, who both consented to full body searches prior to visiting.

The rapper also described the pain he felt when he found out that Drake had slept with a past girlfriend of his.

Finding out that she fucked Drake was the absolute worst thing I could have found out," Wayne wrote. "Drizzy came to see me, he was like, ‘Yeah, it’s true’. Damn! This is the type of shit a man never wants to find out while he is locked up.”

Gone 'Til November will be released on October 11.
