It’s Friday Gold Rush and we’re bringing you interesting news from the past like how the legendary Barry Manilow broke his nose after sleep-walking into a wall.

Ouch! An international treasure was in peril. Legendary singer Barry Manilow (I Write the Songs, Mandy, Somewhere Down the Road) hit a wall inside his house and broke his iconic proboscis.

At the time Manilow was 56 years old when his famous nose met the wall in the middle of the night. Manilow knocked himself unconscious for four hours inside his home in Palm Springs.

"I got up thinking I was still in my holiday home in Malibu and veered to the left instead of the right and slammed right into the wall. I may have to have my nose fixed - and with this nose, it's going to require some major surgery", Manilow revealed a few days later after the accident.

Although he passed out for four hours, he didn't endure any lasting effects as doctors determined that surgery was not necessary.
