Michelle Obama teaches Stephen Curry how to trash talk

Barack Obama’s wife teaches NBA star Stephen Curry how to get under the skin of the president.

Last month, NBA star Stephen Curry lost to President Obama on the golf course and blamed the president’s “trash talk” for his defeat. Now first lady Michelle Obama, co-hosting Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime show, is urging Curry to fight back: “Talk about his ears,” she suggests.

Curry joined first lady Michelle Obama on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday, and the Golden State Warriors point guard revealed just how the leader of the free world talks smack:

You know how during his speeches, he has that slow cadence that kind of draws you in? He brings that same kind of vibe to his trash-talk. So I'll hit a shot out of bounds, and he'll just look like, 'Yeah, that's not a good shot. I'm going to need you to do better next time.' It gets under your skin, too, 'cause like, 'I know! I hit it out of bounds.

Fortunately for Curry, Michelle had his back, sharing how to get inside the head of the President of the United States:

Obama: You should trash-talk back, Stephen.

DeGeneres: Give him some things to say.

Obama: Tell him about his ears. Here's one. Here's one. If you're putting, tell him, 'The shadow from your ears is really messing up my putt.'

DeGeneres: That is low.

Obama: That is what trash-talking is.

Curry: It's not fair, though, he's got 50 Secret Service out there, so if I trash-talk, he just gives them the look.
