Recent times have been tough for Selena Gomez. If you think it's solely about her ugly fallout with former flame Justin Bieber, think again. Apparently she cut her Revival tour short to work on her depression, anxiety and battle with lupus.

In a statement published at People magazine, she wants "to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off." Gomez says by sharing her struggles, she hopes "others will be encouraged to address their own issues." Another source shares, "She decided to clear her calendar for the year in order to have this be her priority for future happiness and didn't want to leave any promoters at bay,"and "She feels relieved that she can now make more sense of why she was feeling the way she was and is optimistic about the future."


"You know how special you are to me," Selena reassured her fans, "but I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best." Personally, acknowledging her inner battles is a good step in taking care of her well-being. Even Cara Delevigne has suffered from depression in the past and was on medication- but eventually decided to quit her meds and face her inner struggles head-on. Now she's one of the world's most sought-after faces and has started to take her baby steps into Hollywood.

Fans will miss the star being in the limelight for sure, but a body can only take so much. A life like hers is what millions of other women dream of and all that money would mean nothing if you can't enjoy it. So let the girl take a break and she'll be back with an unforgettable Revival for sure.
