Amy Lee Announces a Children’s Album

Amy Lee will be showing her gentle side as she plans to release her first children’s album called Dream Too Much which will contain a lot of kid-friendly fares like Sesame Street and Beatles tunes.

This is the other side of Amy Lee. On September, the gothic rock vocalist of Evanescence will release a children’s album called Dream Too Much, a 12-song LP that brings Amy’s soaring voice to kid-friendly fares like the Sesame Street’s “Rubber Duckie”, The Beatles’ “Hello, Goodbye”, and R&B standard “Goodbye, My Love”.

Amy was inspired to make the album from her two year-old son Jack. The project started as a studio-time present to her father, a guitar player who always played music in the Lee home.

"Dad has always been talking about making some kid songs for Jack to have later in life," Lee tells Rolling Stone. "[My husband suggested,] 'You guys should just do it, get in the studio together, you've never been in the studio together, you're both musicians."

Amy and her father recorded the album in Texas. Her dad played ukulele, dobro and banjo. Amy even teamed up with her sisters Carrie and Lori for some Andrew Sisters-style harmonies, and her uncle Tom plays guitar, bass, and harmonica. Amy’s son Jack also appears in a cameo.

Amy however stated that she doesn’t see playing kids shows as a new career path. So maybe she’ll come back wearing heavy eye makeup next year.
