The What Do U Mean hit-maker just recently went public with his previously-rumored new girlfriend Sofia Richie this week – and his fans are not happy that he’s now off the market.
As Justin Bieber shared several black and white snaps of him and Sofia on Instagram, some fans decided to troll the couple with nasty comments about her appearance.
One angry fan wrote: "I won't be celebrating all your dump actions, she's gross and your treating your fans like s**t".
"I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people that I like," the singer posted.
Many Beliebers have interpreted the warning as an insult to their fandom, upset that he called them "fans" and seeing the message as an indication that he is "choosing" Richie over them.
Commenters used the snake emoji and the hashtag #RIPBeliebers to express their anger. "Ohh Justin you honestly don't see how Sofia's a snake but whatever, your problem," reads one comment.
