Sia just uploaded her song Cheap Thrills on YouTube which was originally intended for Rihanna to record.

The 39-year old Australian singer-songwriter wrote the song for Rihanna whose Manager turned down because they wanted a song that has feelings.

Her Manager said, We want 'Diamonds.' We need soul. We want some music that has feeling. Sia revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone.

"For some reason, I really liked listening to it, which makes me feel masturbatory, but I wouldn't normally be just jamming out to my own tune. There's something really uplifting about it that put me in a good mood, and I would just pretend it wasn't me singing. It felt very summer and fun, and I was like, 'I'll put that on there.”

Sia said that while cutting Cheap Thrills she realized that it sounded a little bit too Brit-Pop for Rihanna, but she did send it to the Barbadian singer who passed on it in favor of Diamonds.

Adele also turned down two songs that Sia penned. One of which is Alive that Adele co-wrote, and the other one is Bird Set Free, which was also rejected by Rihanna. Other artists that turned down Sia’s songs were Shakira and Beyoncé.

Sia’s seventh studio album This is Acting is due next month and will feature songs that Sia has written for other artists but were turned down.
