Check out who else got in the list of Walter’s “Most Fascinating Persons” this year

Caitlyn Jenner, famous transgender and former Bruce Jenner the 1976 gold medalist Olympic decathlon winner, has just been named by Barbara Walters as the “most fascinating person” of the year 2015.

Every year, Walters broadcasts and hosts the show Barbara Walters' 10 Most Fascinating People where she compiles a list of ten public figures she finds fascinating. These people must be prominent in the fields of entertainment, sports, politics, and popular culture that year.

In 2015, Walters named Caitlyn Jenner as the most fascinating person, beating out actor Bradley Cooper in 2nd place and businessman CEO of Amazon.com, Jeff Bezos in 3rd place.

“When Bruce Jenner became Caitlyn Jenner, there was a seismic shift in the gender universe.” Barbara Walters said.

“Famous and familiar, she raised awareness and acceptance of transgendered people,” She continued, “Through her own transformation, Caitlyn Jenner transformed society this year, and that, for us, makes her the most fascinating person of 2015.”

2016 U.S. Presidential candidates Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders also made Walter’s top ten list. They join the list this year with mixed-martial-arts fighter Ronda Rousey, and ballet dancer Misty Copeland who made headlines this year in their respective fields.
