If you crave for a remote beach that has not yet been frequented by most tourists and locals to the point that it has become too urbanized or populated, you might like to try heading out to Doljo in Panglao island.
Upon a friends suggestion I did take a short day tour to Doljo, Panglao which promised to be a better alternative to the more famous beach fronts like the ones in Alona, etc… if you want the beach all to yourself even for just a day.

There is no need to worry about roughing it out in Doljo since there are several resorts found dotted along the coconut-filled seashore. Resorts here have fair rates, a bit lower than other beaches elsewhere. Probably its most attractive selling point is the solitary life, the coolness because of the shade of many trees, fine sand and crystal clear waters, and finally the vibrant underwater life near the drop, which sometimes is difficult or close to impossible to find at the more famous beach fronts.

I’ve been back to Bohol twice already and this time it has taken me to Doljo my friend who hails from Bohol said that a leisurely bike ride is the best way to enjoy the scenic route on the way which is a little over an hour only with the reward of coming to the refreshing water and tranquility of the place that could drown out any stress from work.

Some areas of the beach stretch are open to the public where most hang out to avoid spending a single dime for this trip despite enjoying the sun, sand, and waters we usually pay for.

It is also a great place to snorkel where just around several meters to over a hundred into the open sea can offer some breathtaking sights under the water. The corals are better than the ones in Alona, though not as great as another place call Balicasag’s. But they still have plenty of colorful corals and fish.

So if you’d like to take a detour from the usual places even for just a day, Doljo is one place I could suggest you visit. Thanks to my friend LakbayDiva for sharing his travel finds which was really worth the long trip to and from Cebu.
